The result is a rich, creamy, deeply savoury soup base that is hard to distinguish from scratch.

How to use it

Fry the paste in a little oil for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant, then add coconut milk and stock to build the broth. Add noodles and your choice of prawns, chicken, tofu, or vegetables, and simmer until cooked through. It also works as a marinade base for grilled seafood and chicken, or stirred into stir-fries for an instant Southeast Asian flavour boost.
