Furikake nori and sesame rice seasoning 50 g

A bowl of plain rice needs very little when sesame and nori are involved. Furikake is a Japanese seasoning sprinkled over food: this blend pairs white and black sesame seeds with nori seaweed for nutty flavour, a savoury seaweed note and a little crunch. Soy sauce and kelp add depth, balanced by a touch of sugar.

A finishing sprinkle

Sprinkle over freshly cooked rice, rice bowls or onigiri, Japanese rice balls. Try it on eggs, noodles or roasted vegetables, too. Add just before serving to enjoy the contrast between the sesame seeds, seaweed and the food beneath.
