Some knives are made to cut. The MASERIN Belum fixed blade is made to remember. Created to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Giuseppe Maserin — known as “Belu”, Alpine soldier of the 4th Regiment, Battalion Cadore, decorated at Vittorio Veneto — this is a collectible knife with a story behind every detail. The name BeLUM combines his nickname with the M of the Maserin surname. The shapes reference the knives produced at the historic CO.RI.CA.MA factory in Maniago, identifiable by the CM marking on the blade.

N690 steel, Paosantos, and a 3D-printed knob

The blade is N690 stainless steel with a satin finish — a high-performance steel chosen for its corrosion resistance and edge retention, at 202 mm length and 5 mm thickness. The handle is Paosantos, a dense tropical hardwood with a fine grain and warm tone that ages well in the hand. The guard is AISI 420 steel, and the knob is 3D printed in AISI 316 steel — a manufacturing detail that reflects Maserin’s willingness to use contemporary methods in service of a traditional form. The knife comes with a leather sheath and a decorative box.

Why MASERIN

Coltellerie Maserin has been making knives in Maniago, Italy since 1960 — in the same town where this knife’s story begins. The Belum is not a production piece. It is a limited collectible made by a family business to honour their own history, using the same craft standards that define their professional range. That provenance is not something that can be replicated.
